My starting point has been looking at the theme of textures which has led to a range of ideas such as combining elements of Bruce Montagne’s work as I like his work because it shows the texture of subject matter well. Bruce focuses on the idea of capturing the texture of the subject matter in lots of detail. Another photographer that has influenced me to is Adrienne Adam.
My intention is to take photos of the different textures close up so that you can see all the detail. I also aim to replicate the work of Bruce Montagne’s but change it to my own thing. The photographers have influenced me to take photos close up and showing lots of detail in the texture and the colour of the object. |
Gabriel Robeldo

Bruce Montagne |
Gabriel Robledo is a texture photographer. He takes close detailed photos to show the best of the texture. This photograph is the surface of leaf and Gabriel has showed very well the texture of the back of this leaf. The use of lines on the subject matter make the photo has a Patten which makes the photo different and stand out.

this photograph is the center of a tree, the use of line and pattern in this photo makes the photo look very effective and also show’s the texture in the photo very well. This photo stands out because it is abstract and the texture is very clear.
The light in this photo is fairly bright throughout the whole image, this means that the texture is able to see clearly and the bright light shows the cracks in the wood very well. Bruce has focused on the texture in this photo and has done very well in doing that. The texture is a very dry look and looks like the tree is cracking inside. The lines in the tree and the cracks make the photo stand out because it is very different. The texture of this photo is very important as it really shows off the photo and makes it stand out. Even though the colours in this photo are very dull the photo is still very effective because of the light and because of the texture. This photographer has inspired me to take close up photos to get the best out of the texture in the photos. |
Cheyenne Worthington photography
this photograph is a photo of the top of a wooden basket, the use of continuous pattern makes the photo very effective and different. The texture in the photo is hard and ruff, the photo looks very dry, the photographer has shown this very well and very nicely. I like the black and white effect as it makes the photo look different and I will edit some of my photos to look like this too.

within this photograph I was attempting to capture the texture of the pillow, wanted to get good focus in the photo and also I wanted the angle to be low. The camera I used to take this is called a Nikkon D3100 and it is very good for detail and close ups. this photo was taken inside in the day so the light is all natural as no lights were on and the only light was coming through windows. The work of Gabriel Robeldo influenced me to take a detailed photo, lots of texture and close up photos. Gabriel's use of colour and tone also influenced me to take photos with lots of colour and edit them so that they are vibrant and interesting. when editing my photos I only changed the brightness, contrast and vibrancy. I also cropped the edges. I like this photo because it stands out and is bright.
How I edited my photos
2nd photo shoot
Photo Intensions
When Taking my photos I wasn't to bothered about the light because I knew that I was going to edit them into black and white because that mimics Cheyenne Worthington photography when editing my photos I didn't care about the brightness because i knew i was putting it in black and white.

when editing my photos I attempted to edit just like Cheyenne Worthington photography, editing was very simple. all I had to do to make my photos resemble Cheyenne Worthington was put them in black and white, I find it very easy to take the photos as you don't have to worry about the brightness or contrast because it does not affect the photo. I believe I have edited these photos fairly well. The cropping was easy to do and the black and white is only clicking one button. I think I have done a good replication of my photographers photos.

within my edits I was trying to create them so that they are very colourful, vibrant and so that they stand out. when editing my photos I changed the brightness, contrast, vibrancy and saturation. These make the photo change colour and make the photo look much better in my opinion. These photos are very easy to edit with the software we edit with and how I edit them and the fact that I only change a small amount of things in the photo. I only change the photos by a small amount but still manage to make the photo look very nice. When editing my next set of photos I will do something very different to make them stand out and look outstanding.
